Landing Fee

In 1990 legislation was passed to allow the Town of New Shoreham to collect a $0.50 landing fee from each passenger over the age of 12 arriving on Block Island by public or private boat. This fee will be utilized by the Town of New Shoreham to promote the comfort and well-being of all persons visiting Block Island. For your convenience, collection boxes are located at CHAMPLIN'S MARINA, BLOCK ISLAND BOAT BASIN, PAYNE'S DOCK, SMUGGLER'S COVE MARINA, AND THE OLD HARBOR TOWN DOCK. The fee will also be collected with rental mooring payments

Town Rental Moorings

	There are 90 Town owned rental moorings in the southwest corner of the Great Salt Pond. The nightly mooring fee is $30.00 on a first come, first served basis.
	The town rental moorings are lime-green colored center pipe buoys with black numbers.
	There is a two boat maximum use of a mooring, each vessel is $30.00 per night. (The two boat use is subject to Harbormaster discretion - rafting is not forced.)
	Vessels over 40 ft. contact Harbormaster on VHF Channel 12.

Pump Out Information

The Town of New Shoreham provides a free pumpout boat service to all vessels in New Harbor. Pumpout service is also available seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - CALL PUMPOUT ON VHF CHANNEL 73. Vessels at private marinas in New Harbor (Great Salt Pond) are encouraged to use the marina pumpout facilities, especially during periods of peak demand (weekends/ holidays). Contact the dockmaster at your marina.
